02 · Where we started

B2B creative stopped being
creative.

Twenty years in B2B demand gen and social taught the founder one thing: creativity is the only lever that scales. ClickUp, Monday, Slack didn’t become category-defining brands on better media buying.

We started Black Camel in 2022 to bring that craft to B2B tech. We began with brand films — live action, wit, craft. But the work clients kept asking for was product marketing. Launches nobody watched. Explainers nobody finished.

That’s mostly where we live now — launch and explainer video for complex tech, built to be sent, forwarded, remembered.

Lever 01

A clever metaphor.

A frame that gives a technical product a shape the buyer hasn’t seen. Not analogy-by-explainer. Real category-level thinking that gives the product a new outline.

Subtle humour.

The smile of recognition, not the laugh out loud. Most B2B tech video is allergic to wit. That’s the opening.

Story, not explanation.

Almost every B2B tech video is built as an explainer. Ours start with a story and let the product live inside it. Story holds attention. Explanation gets skipped.

A distinct creative direction.

Art, type, motion, sound, pacing — none of it shared with the rest of your category. If a competitor’s video could be re-dubbed and pass for yours, we’ve failed before we started.
